RCMI Pre-proposal Instructions.
The RCMI pre-proposal application includes:
You must submit your pre-proposal on the RCMI application. The following sections are included. All fonts must be Arial 11. The pre-proposal research application consists of 4 sections. Each section contains a text input field that is limited to the page length indicated below. The pre-proposal 4 page limitation does not include literature cited.
RCMI Pre-Proposal research application
A. Background and Aims – 2 pages
- Include a brief background to the project to include the current gaps in the knowledge of the proposed research
- State clearly how the project, if completed, would address these gaps and enhance our understanding
- List the Specific Aims of the project
- State your hypotheses for each Aim
B. Research Plan – 1 page
- Provide a brief description of the experimental rationale for each Specific Aim
- PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO PROJECTS THAT UTILIZE MULTIPLE RCMI CORE FACILITIES. Include in this section a description of how the proposed project will utilize the RCMI Core Facilities.
C. Research Development Plan – ½ page
- Describe your plan for grant submission as a Principal Investigator. Include a timeline, proposed funding agency or agencies, and type of award.
D. Mentoring Plan – ½ page
- Describe a proposed mentoring plan for the duration of the funding period, and how this mentoring plan will enhance your research and professional development.
E. Literature cited – no page limitation
